Water pump ponderance

Been having problems with the waterpump (Surflo series 4000?) not always shutting off.
Sometimes, when the pump brings the system up to pressure, the water pump will continue to run, either until the pump is turned off, or a faucet opened and closed.
Then, usually, it will turn off.

I've opened it up and cleaned what I could, but I'm guessing it's probably the pressure switch.

Before I go further, thoughts?

When someone tells you to buy the same rig they own, listen, they might be right. When they tell you to buy a different rig then they own, really pay attention, they probably know something you don't.

Thanks guy, Chris I will check both (it's good to have a real working pro on the forum)

I had that problem once.

That's why I don't like the water pump to be too quiet. I want to know if it keeps running.

Most likely the switch just needs to be adjusted. Another possibliity is if the battery is weak, it will keep pumping but not develop enough pressure to activate the switch.

Pressure switch *or* bypass pressure.

Yes, the pressure switch may need adjustment. It is in this PDF file under operation.

I'd have to agree it's probably the pressure switch.
