I think it depends on your idea of "forecast".
I've been using barometers to give me a "forecast" for the next days weather for decades. I have found things like a dial barometer and the "Captain's Glass" water barometer to be far more accurate for the next days weather than standard weather forecasts.
I listen to the radio (and internet weather sites) all the time for weather for the upcoming week.
Find what works for you, and go camping!
