Westlake tires

I just purchased a new toy hauler and it came equipped with Westlake tires on it. My old one had the Towmax(Blowmax)tires and they were trouble from the get go !! I was wondering what kind of like people are having with the Westlake tires ?? Should I replace them now or are they worth leaving on ??
  • I'm two years but only 4,000 miles into my westlakes, and so far am 100% happy with them.
Way better than highway stability and seem to run cooler than the tires that were on it when I bought 6 years ago. Not enough usage to prove excellence, Maybe I just had Really crappy tires originally?
  • My rig came with them. I have around 6-7K miles on the clock since purchase not including ride from Indiana. I just ordered new sneakers. I had mine off while installing new grease seals and brake job and noticed some slight cracking between the treads.

My goal was to run them one season and swap next spring. didnt happen.
  • Westlake is their own entity under Lionshead.

Their Super ST line have a speed rating of 75mph.

Construction is not much different than other ST's based on a recent cutaway of one I recently replaced. They do not weigh as much as the Endurance and Carlisle HD leaving me to believe their still a cheaper ST option. None the less, all Grand Designs come with them and there are reports of a failures, but nothing to be alarmed about.

  • Probably Towmax just re-badged their tires and now call them Westlake.....
and as soon as the poor reputation catches up to them, they will be called something like Forever Run.....
