Wheel chair batterys

I've had very bad luck with those scooter batteries. Something like $120 and 2 years lifetime. I'm wondering if one big RV battery could be used in the scooter?

The short life was probably due to discharging it too far too often.

Why not sell the chair with the batteries? Lots of people need those very expensive chairs and would love to get one for a used price. Oh, I suppose many can get a new one free from the government.

I've purchased hundreds of Power Sonic batteries for use in emergency lighting systems. They seem to be an okay AGM battery.

Those two batteries in parallel are about 2/3+ of a group 24 battery. I would use them if I had the need and space.

If their good, I'd put'm online if you can use more AHs.
Those are one tuff battery, in many cases, I've known them to go 10 yrs in adult scooter operation.

33 Ah is pretty substantial. Motive batteries too. How many volts do they read right now?

Donate it to someone who can use the chair rather than render it usless. I don't think you would benefit from the batteries from the chair.

18 AH is what most wheelchair batteries are rated at. Marine/RV batteries are around 90AH Plus range. So you would get about 1/4 the power of an RV battery.

Those batteries are exactly the same physical size as WMs garden tractor batteries, but are nearly twice as heavy. I believe they are 32 AHs, verses the tractor batts at 22 AHs.

I just bought 2 of them from Batteries Plus for my 24v B&D lawn mower, @ $84 each.

Give the name and battery number so we can look up what you have. You can use them but we don't know the capacity. The good news is that wheelchairs typically use top quality deep cycle batteries because they live a hard life and must be absolutely reliable.

Most wheelchairs are 24 volt systems and use two 12 volt batteries. They use all different sizes with group 24 usually the largest.

My son is a wheelchair mechanic. I get free used gel 12v group 24 batteries from him whenever I want a replacement set. They swap them out of chairs every 18 months.

The ones he gets me are MK Battery (Deka) by East Penn Manufacturing. They are heavier than a typical flooded group 24 with slightly less capacity but they are free to me. Originally they cost over $200 each.

Most likely 12 volt AGM deep cycle, Yes, they can be used on a TT. to figure out the power you have 3 methods.

1: IT may be on the label
2: The size and sahape, look up batteries of same size shape
3: Scale, weight them, then weigh a battery such as a Group 29 of known capacity. Do the math (Pounds known/Pounds unknown =about= amp hours known/amp hours unknown

Or in other words, if it is 1/2 the weight, it's 1/2 the amp hours.
