Where To Buy 30-A/H Li-Po Battery ?

Shopping with this phartsmone is impossible. 33 WEBPAGE NOT AVAILABLE or Amazon is having problems try again later...

If I am looking at 500 dollars I'll have to kiss this off. But I'll need 100% of 30-amp hours. I have no idea if NiMH can endure 0% remaining discharges. 10 D cell TENERGY 14 amp hour rechargables cost a hundred dollars.

Weight is critical. Maybe eight pounds or so maximum. The Lifeline is going to have to stay home under my bed. The Respironics must be used with the humidifier anabled. No choice. Thank you

You'll need probably 40 amps of battery capacity to get 30 amps useful without killing the LI battery.

NIMH are fine with full discharge, better to leave 5 to 10% in them though. 300-400 cycles max with the NI MH in the type of conditions you mention. No idea on the weight...

    Tenergy 8 pac D cells
  • That battery would be nice but you need 4 to get 12.8V, Thats $540 and the weight doesn't work either.
LiPo is the only way I can think of that would meet the weight requirement but the cost would be out of sight.
  • can't you use a pass over humidifier? no juice to heat the water.
    bumpy
  • You're talking about a Li-Fe-Po, right? If so, these are motorcycle starting batteries, and they are rated by the mfr as "ah equivilence" to a flooded battery under extreme draws. Essentially, they are selling you a 15ah-capacity battery that will perform under heavy loads like a 30ah would, regarding Peukert effect, and ONLY regarding Peukert effect.

My advice is, if you need 30ah, get two 15ah UPG AGMs, and fab up some quick-release jumpers.
  • Hi Mex,

I don't think you will find an 8 pound battery that does 30 amp-hours.
