I am interested to see what battery most of you use. I currently have two 12v interstate group 24 batteries that are 3 years old. We dry camp and use a generator to charge during the day then just run off of battery power at night which run heat and lights.

I am running three standard issue GP24 Interstates in my 255AH battery bank. Been doing this since 2008 and camping alot off the power grid. These batteries are just now starting to see some fall off of performance with them. I really want to replace these with two 12VDC Trojan T1275 150Ah batteries on the trailer tongue and two additional 12VDC Trojan T1275 150AH batteries in the bed of my truck. I have heavy battery requirements for my two way radios in the truck as well as camping in the off-road trailer setup. SO having the two separate 12VDC sources will fit my requirements of 300Ahs in each setup just fine. The beauty of this arrangement is when I am camping I can parallel the two 300AH battery groups together to give m around 600AHs when in camping mode...These cost alot however so when the time comes I will most likely end-up with the cheaper two each GC2 golf Cart 6VDC batteries in series in each location. This arrangment will give me around 225AH in each location and only cost around $90 per battery verses around $150 per battery with the Trojan T1275s... I would probably be lucky to find the Trojans for $150 each. Cost per AHs needed is hard to beat the COSTCO/SAMs CLUB 6VDC Golf Cart GC2 deep cycle batteries.If you are a KEYSTONE CHALLENGER 5th Wheel four of those GC2 6V batteries fit very nice across the front door of the storage bay where your two GP24 batteries are now currently... here is photo how one guy did it...Roy Ken

I am currently using 6 volt golf cart batteries. Much longer life out of them. If you can make room, a set of golf cart batteries may be a good alternative for you. Especially if you can manage 4 of them on your trailer.

Two 6v golf car batteries from Sam's Club in the TH.Two 12v group 24 wheel chair Deka gel batteries in the Aliner.

I have two 6v GC2's and three smaller AGM's, total battery capacity of 320 AH's. The GC2 golf cart batteries have the same footprint as a Grp 24 but are taller.

We use a single grp 27 and a 8-D for a total of 345 ah.

I replaced my Shasta brand (out of business) OE batteries after 6 years with Group 24 Interstates. We'll see.......

Optima Blue-Top Group 24, circa 2008. Having owned this battery for over 6 years and for all its advantages, I'm sticking with AGM batteries and never going back to the old lead-acid jobs!

100% AGM since Jan 2009. The details of my setup are in my profile. I am very satisfied with mine and have already chosen replacement AGMs for when these fail.

4x Costco GC2. After seven years they seem to have more power than ever when charged with solar for the past 18 months.

I have 2 group 34 12v AGM batteries that are Sears Platinum. They have a 4 year warranty, and then are pro-rated after that.
