One of the last remaining incandescent bulbs in my Bounder is the porch light.......Once of my concerns is, does the porch light need a waterproof bulb like what is in it now?(#105)....as most of the current crop of LED bulbs are an open design........or would a LED panel be OK?If you have replaced your porch light bulb with an LED one......which one did you use?......I'm looking for warm white........

My porch light used a 911 incandescent bulb. I replaced it with a 9 5050 LED cob style light. I wanted a low current light that I could leave on when I was out and come back after dark and see where the lock and steps were. It draws only 85ma. Not a big drain when off the grid.

Hi,I'd use one of the cobb style replacements. I had a flat panel--but snow got in--and even led's do produce heat--so the snow turned to water--and the led shut down.

I have used this replacement bulb for both the exterior porch lamp, as well as the bathroom light in our M/H. In the bathroom it works very well, but is not as bright as I would like for the porch.

I use the same flat panel w/ 3 leds in it that I used in all the other fixtures.Its not the britest, but it don't need to be, and it don't hardly use any battery,....leave it on all nite.

Corrosion isn't airborne. But the reason that the patio lights are not completely air tight (other than the fact that it would cost a fortune) is to allow it to breathe and dry out. Even the Starlights 1000 with all its electronics inside has a purpose-cut vent on the bottom of the lens to allot it to breathe.

I put a $1.85 LED panel in my porch fixture and it is perfect for me. You really want the fixture to be sealed so corrosion doesn't get in there.

One advantage of the Revolution bulb intended for porch lights is that it can be rotated so as to direct the light up or down as needed.

I bought my motion sensing porch light from them before they started the LED bulb with it so bought the bulb from them a couple of years ago.

This is a nice motion detector upgrade.

Starlight SL 1000

If you just want to replace the bulb the following rotates on its base to allow some directional aiming. It is used in the above. Also advertised as waterproof.

More expensive than the eBay China cheapies (which I use a lot)-
this Starlights bulb puts all of the light out the lens and is very well made.

I used the LED TRAILERLIGHTS.com for my OFF-ROAD POPUP outside light. My bulb was a 1156 I think it was... I used a 380 LUMENS replacement LED which is nice and bright...

OUTSIDE LED

Have not had any issues with the replacement unit not being an incandescent type glass bulb. Water does not get inside my outside light fixture with the cover installed.

In your case you will have to find one that will fit your somewhat close quarters room you show in your photo.

I have THIS one on both sides of the coach. While it's 6100k, I have a yellow cover that makes it a giant bug light (don't like the cold light either). I also like the fact that the articulated head allows you to point the LED's where they belong rather than wasting them on the backside into the fixture. You can also point it further down to light your area and not the neighbors window. Starlights also makes a couple that are 4100k.. Much warmer

We replaced both of our outside fixtures with the StarLight 1000 because we like the motion detector feature. You can get the fixture or bulbs in black or white housings depending on what works best for your purpose.

Note that this bulb is not warm white... We use the amber lens in our StarLight fixures.
