Also, the brand we bought (again they're in the MH) on the remotes you were able to buy both ones with and without cords on them. The senors were on the ends of the cords of those units. This type of sensor works very well for outside temps. Install the remote itself inside where it will stay warm and dry, then run the cable out the dash down so it hangs an inch or two below the front bumper. This keeps it from picking up heat from the MH.

The remote sensors quit working when the batteries freeze.

It is a very common problem in winter in the upper Midwest and other places where below zero (F) temperatures are common.

Like marc said above, there's lot's of good units out there and Oregon Scientific is not the only good mfg. It all comes down to what you're looking for; if you only want to get temps, there's lots of good choices out there that are cheaper than OS.

I have the accurite dual wireless fridge freezer thermometer.
It works great. Transmits from fridge to my driver seat while towing, even to my couch in the house from the TT (40 feet).
Shows current temps in big numbers and also show min-max for each, all on the screen at the same time. Also has programmable hi-lo alarms for each.

Google "Oregon Scientific" and you'll find what you need. They offer an extensive line of these units with multiple add on sensors like wind, etc. I saw some of their stuff at Bass Pro and later ordered a unit off Amazon. Works great, the range is good and the batteries last a very long time. I keep it at home and transfer it to the trailer when traveling. Very good quality stuff.

According to the information in the papers that came with the unit, the range is 30 meters / 100 feet.

But there are other considerations too. Obstacles in the way that can block the signal etc.

No transmission problems with the 2 sensors in the fridge and freezer. The signal goes through the fridge just fine, but the base unit sits about 7 feet away.

Yes the remote sensors work well for many things. They did seem to be particuar to batteries also. They didn't care for the Sanyo Enlopes rechargeable batteries. I may have that name slightly wrong as the batteries are in the MH and I'm not.

And buy and extra sensor or two before your model becomes outdated, you can usually order them on line. Nothing like getting everything set up the way you want it and then one of them quits working in a year or two.

That's very nice - I have on that will toggle through several sensors but had not seen one like this that shows them all at the same time.
