Wiring new Cool Cat

We have switched out a new Domestic Cool Cat for an early model from 2000. New thermostat is digital. Called Dometic last week and got some tech help on using the original wiring harness, which they said could be done and gave an explanation of hook up. We've done that (we believe) and still nothing on the thermostat. Anyone have any experience doing this? Old connection was 6 wire, and new is 3. We have the wiring diagrams.
  • The old unit with analog thermostat did not appear to have a 12 volt supply. I think that's the connection we're missing? Rereading all instructions and I have a 12 volt supply wire there that fed the carbon monoxide detector. It does not say what amp supply it should be. Are we on the right track? I guess the tech person assumed we had the 12v connection made. We thought the unit had a converter in it to supply the 12v. Now we see in the instructions it has to come from the camper's converter.
  • If the cool cat is like the other single zone digital models, there is a 12 volt in *and* a 12 volt out to the thermostat lead at the cool cat. If you power the thermostat from something else, I believe it will not work.
