Wow Loud Genset

Fired up the genset on my recently acquired 2000 Itasca to check out the LED 32" TV I installed and WOW, is it ever loud. So loud that I had to turn up the TV volume in order to hear it. It's not the muffler but rather the motor running. Fortunately I have a 2000 Genset that's whisper quiet I can bring when camping.

AMEN. I avoid tourist areas where people think it is mandatory to shout at 110db, drive quads across campsites at 70 mph and play what they consider to be music and what I consider to be a significantly good effort to mimic a Ford diesel ready to blow a connecting rod...

Get a 12v DC TV. Then you won't need the generator or inverter.

What model MH is this and what generator. The 3600LP Onan in my View makes noise, but not anything terrible.

You wouldn't by chance be watching the TV outside by the generator, would you?

Nope not a broken exhaust manifold. Just louder than I expected being it's right under the dinette where the TV is located. My previous MH's genset was at the rear.
I'll just run my Honda generator for the time being to watch TV while dry camping then as suggested, I'll install the 1750 inverter that I had from my previous MH.

HowLoud really ? broken exhaust loud ?
or just louder than you expected, is it mounted under the sofa, or in the rear of the the RV

the Onan, Genirac, Kholer ? should not be that loud

odds are it has a broken exhaust manifold, if it is truly as loud as you make it seem
I can explain it to you.
But I Can Not understand it for you !

I would keep it for the ability to run the rooftop AC going down the road.

Humm, that's a thought.

Sell the genset right where it sits via Craigslist. There are a lot of off-grid homes and I have never heard of one wishing a 2000 watt generator.

x2, we never use our generator for TV, only the inverter. Wish I'd done that 10 years ago!
