Was watching the weather channel marveling at the record high temps!

How are you setup? Are you out in the sticks under a tree or something? You off grid? what temps have you seen so far?

Inquiring minds want to know the complete details!

Thanks

There are decent stores at the either end of this 250 miles stretch - both in GN and SQ.

Remember Moses traveling with his tribe 200 something miles from Egypt to Promised land for 40 years? ๐Ÿ™‚ It's a 2 weeks distance for not very fit hiker. Alright, that guy had a purpose, to teach them a lesson.

Gulf, i.e. SOC side?

Winter (Baja Norte): heavy winds 7-8 days a month, dry, 70s, chilly 50s mornings.
Summer: hot, hot, hot... not this year. Couple hours at 90-95, 70-80 nights. This summer is darn cold. It's getting hotter closer to US border though.
Early fall: rainstorms and bugs, humidity like in some godforsaken Michoacan ๐Ÿ™‚ , there is even Chikungunya fewer mosquito in the last few years.

I'm curious: how could one possibly drive 375 miles for shopping in the state that is 100 miles wide from Pacific to Gulf and 250 miles long from Guerrero Negro to San Quintin?

Yesterday they brought me a Mass Airflow Sensor for a Ford Ranger and hoped I could fix it...it was snapped in two.

Rumor has it the Salmon Flys are popping downstream in Ennis. Foam sandwich Pteronarcys slapped down hard against the banks brings the brown meatheads out of their lairs for a steak dinner.

Heh heh heh---

Cutthroat trout. Big ones like....

Hack-Cough-Gag-Wheeze. My setup nabbed a 6 lb 9 oz hen from Round Lake, Alpine County, Calif. Caught and released. We ate red meat cutthroats until we had it coming out of our ears. Big fish are big spawners, the Upper Truckee river.

I am NOT in the middle of nowhere
But if I stand on my tiptoes I can see it from here...

HERE on the Pacific side. I get to play with things that can electrocute me. I gave up and bought into a 300 pesos per month unlimited cellular plan that allows unlimited time. I spend more actual time with the family from here than I do when I live across the arroyo from them. There, I signal the girls with a massive cowbell on the patio.

When Jim's Megawatt gets here then I'll really apply myself. Until then, it's goofing off with Light Emitting Diode Arrays. I burned in the 600 watt array last night. Pointed upward. Reflected off the low clouds. Brought gawking traffic and a few dozen boys. It's way WAY brighter than a thousand watt metal halide lamp. Drive the chips at full ma capacity then keep them cool.

That was the MegaWatt importer.

I'm stuck in Yellowstone Nat'l park with all the tourons, blowholes, and beautiful fish, this week. Nothing but splatted bugs all over the front of the vehicle.

Rode my mtn bike,, was breathing through my mouth and got a few stuck between my teeth. Midges. I can spit those out, it's the ones that get you mouth breathing and go down into your lungs that make you gag in a coughing fit. Great way to crash gracefully in a coughing spell. But the fish love 'em!

From what I remember from Baja, 2 hr of driving gets you from 57F Ocean to 85F Gulf.
But don't think lot of people can survive Gulf without AC
Tell us more how did you arrange it Mex?
I don't think I would like to spend whole year in Baja, but 6 months stays are on my bucket list.

Hmmmm

Here in the outpost, on the Pacific coast of Baja California, I slept under a comforter, but found it thrown off me at dawn. No NOT Dawn! Sunrise.

Tonight, I will use a lighter blanket. It's around 85F at 10:45AM here inside a concrete building. But the Pacific ocean is only two blocks from where I am sitting.

Yeah Roy, I have too many things, too much cargo waiting for me up north. Including an external hard drive, chock full of movies. Thanks to a certain "somebody" I listen to hours and hour of music, but mainly I am a reader. As of yesterday I have a $192 DEKA group 31 AGM waiting for me in San Diego. This is for the toad. Adios threat of battery problems!

In July I call the medical center up north and see if they have received all my medical records. Last time I saw them they amounted to a pile 3-1/2" thick. Then I can get serious about front end alignment and valve job.

1/2" exposed 2X4 plywood house. It gets hot. It gets chilly. I also pay $192.00 monthly for rent, housekeeping, domestic water and clothing washing and ironing service. Yup, that's the total plus around eight dollars a month electricity. Amparo, drives the toad 375 miles on the first of the month to go shopping. I sit alongside pressing an imaginary brake pedal.

If we should get horribly hot=dry weather, I'll soak a sheet, wrap it around me and sit it front of a fan. The ocean temp here is 57F. Absolutely perfect for a heart attack. This is a La Niรฑa, year. I don't even expect a tropical depression to get anywhere near.

I lost the website for that store that sells MeanWell power supplies at a rock bottom price. Need more 36 volt 350 watt power supplies.

Knowing MEX all these years I'm thinking he may have gone to an underground bunker where it is nice and cool... His summer home on the ocean side usually draws in all of the bad storms during the hurricane season...

He's alive and well going through catalogs buying a bunch of neat things I guess. At least discussing all of them online here...
