Besides, if it had the older 5 speed trans/6 speed trans, that trans dogged the Hemi performance with it's poor ratios.
In fact, the 5 speed/6 speed is more of a 4 speed since there is only 5 gears available in "Auto" mode and 2 of them are overdrives. It's essentially is like a GM 4 speed auto trans with an additional super low ratio overdrive gear. Now add that highway geared axle of 3.55 and you have a low torque multiplication factor next to that new GM that has a high torque multiplication factor.
That newer GM essentially has the same power output, HP and torque, as my 5.0 4V DOHC engine and it's transmission is geared almost identical. Plus he's got the same 3.73 axle gearing I have. I know the great torque he talking about, I feel it everyday. :)
