I know there are a million towing posts out there but I wanted to get your guys input with a little more specific information.I have a f-150 with max tow of around 7200 lbs. Currently have a 26 ft TT with a loaded weight of around 5000lbs. Trailer pulls fine no problems.Looking to get a little bigger TT with a dry weight of around 5200 lbs.My truck is a daily driver so I really don't want to drive around a 3/4 ton drive all the time.I live in Indiana. We mostly stay at local state parks. We camp around 8-10 times a year. I don't have any plans to go out west or east into any mountains. I really don't see us every traveling any further than Michigan,Illinois,Ohio, or Kentucky.so the bottom line is what do you guys think about pulling a ~5000-6000 lbs 32 ft TT considering the above conditions with a 1/2 ton pick up truck.

I usually don't recommend towing at max ratings. However in your case if you do in fact adhere to your stated plans I don't see why it wouldn't work out fine for you.

I doubt you'll notice another 1000 pounds of pulled weight or 200 pounds of TW. Get a WDH with integrated sway control and enjoy.

Tongue weight will be 525 lbs. I already have a WD hitch and sway bar. wd hitch is good for 10,000 lbs tow and 1000 lbs tongue weight.

what else would you like? max tow of current 1/2 ton is 7200. I have already calculated that based on all the variables. 1586 payload capacity. crew cab. payload runs out quickly if family is in truck but they usually drive separately in family van. truck weighs 6080 lbs. TT im looking at has a tongue weight of 525. I have a WD hitch and sway bar already.

Truck maxes out towing at 7200
what is trucks payload cap?
A 7000 lb trailer should have a tongue weight of about 1000 lbs, do you have the payload for that with other passengers, gear in bed etc?
You use the truck as a daily driver, and dont want a 3/4 ton. But another F-150 properly equipped can tow 10700 and carry up to 2300 lbs. So the possibility of upgrading to an eco boost with higher capacities is available should your current truck disappoint you in its towing after a few trips, or if you decide to make some longer , more ardurous trips in the future.

payload is 1586. tongue of trailer is 525. the upgrade to a new ecoboost vs f250 is definitely in my thought process.
