I've spent a fair amount of time in Phoenix, but have never lived full time there. I do know about the 120* days, where it cools down to a balmy 100* overnight.
But I still don't accept that tires should last less than 4 years. As I said, if it was me, I would talk to my tire dealer (usually Discount Tire) about standing behind the tire. I wouldn't expect full replacement, but I would be surprised if they didn't offer something.
And if they didn't stand behind them, I certainly would not buy the same brand a second time. Especially when there seems to be many reports of similar damage in more hospitable climates.
