19.5 inch rims

3-4-5 months ago I posted a question concerning replacing my OEM 18 rims with 19.5 inch rims on my 2011 chevy 3500hd non dually. A gentlemen from I believe from Oregon said he had done this on his chevy and had no issues or problems. He even PM me with additional information. I hope this gentlemen reads this post and responds, I wondering if after driving on 19.5 rims throughout this summer does he still believe he made the correct decision. He purchased his rims and tires from "Mario" in Florida. Be careful out there!
  • These are the 245's on my Ford which are about 33" tall:

  • They work well on SRW trucks as long as you do not need flotation on sand. The tires are very heavy with stiff sidewalls that do not flex to make a larger footprint, so they will dig rather than float.

225/70R19.5 are more likely the biggest tires your GM will handle with modifications to your front fender liners or suspension. You get the most benefit with 245/70R19.5 tires which typically have 4500-5000 lbs capacity per tire, so you may want to look at a leveling kit, or trimming some of your liner.
  • I was considering this for a while but it is very costly. I have the same truck as you. Mine is a diesel and yours probably is too. I have about 4k capacity payload with OEM. Interesting subject. I have sense taken my rig many thousands of miles and have been very satisfied. I did recently install the quick disconnect torklifts but besides that all is stock with no problems.
