1970 HR traveler questions

I just bought a 69-71 HR traveler travel trailer (owner not sure of exact year or model but believes it to be 28-30 feet in length. It has been sitting in a rv community for a long time and the wheels and tires are long gone. I need to buy wheels and tires to transport but don't know rim size or tire size. If some one could help me out I would really appreciate it.
  • Check the hub/drums and see how many holes/lugs are present. These era trailers often have the Dexstar-four bolt open center rims. They are sold at Etrailer or a recycler may have some.

If you plan to keep this trailer for years, you may wish to call Dexter, get the information on the axles, and install compatible 5 bolt rims/hubs. I've been told they are available.

Good chance the wheels were 15".
  • You will have to check the hubs and see what style they are.
If they are a large hub with 4 bolts you may have this style wheel.

If you have a standard small 5 bolt hub you will have to measure them to see if ther are "5 on 4.5" or "5 on 5"
here is a guide to measuring.

    5 on 4.5" would likely be a 14" wheel
    5 on 5" would likely be a 15" wheel
