I had a 1988 Terry, it had a sheet aluminum roof. The only leaks I encountered were from the marker lights, I removed them, cleaned out the old putty, reinstalled them using plumbers putty and they never leaked again.
These units are heavy, mine was a 29R and it was 6000 pounds loaded with everything but water.
