1st View EC 1165 and Host Mammoth

Double couch and See/Sea Level sensors in the tanks.

Thanks, the double couch is one of the main reasons I'm looking at Host. I had See Level monitors in my last motorhome and they worked well.

I second the See Level monitors. If Host offers them, DO IT. (as you already know, they are really nice.)

I added them to my AF811

Host would not install sea level gauges for me. I did get them to install a black tank flush.

Thanks Spearfisherman, I just assumed the black tank came with a tank flush. Can't believe it wouldn't be a standard item.

So no built in generator? You must be adding solar and more batteries? Or carry a Honda 2000?

I love having a built in push button genny....can get the coffee pot going in the morning before going outside :)

I also looked at the Host Mammoth and the Eagle Cap 1165. We did a side by side comparison at D&H. I agree, the mammoth seems to be of a higher quality. But evryones needs are different, and for me the theater seating in the rear slide was the reason that I would prefer the Eagle Cap. But I didn't buy it, not ready yet. I'm curious what the Arctic Fox 3 slide will be like.

My coffee's better than yours then because I perk mine. And whenever I pull the gen start cord outside I get to set up the B/Q for a nice steak dinner. :p


About the triple slide... I think small is beautiful as long as it simpler, less weight, easier to take care of. I think a lot of folks get too involved in trying to own everything. Just my opinion as is my coffee.

I saw my 1st Mammoth Host (mounted on a truck) today. The owner was kind enough to pull over and answer some of my questions. He stated that the camper is 4500 lbs dry and that his 2012 GMC 3500 has no problems hauling it, including the trip down the mountain from Telluride, CO where he purchased it. The only mods he uses are airbags. He also told me that he occasionally tows a trailer behind it, without issue.

I followed him about 1/4 mile until he could pull over (even had to go over a speed bump), it seemed very stable on the truck. This camper is sweet. And Huge. :)

Well enough solar power, batteries and inverter and he could make coffee from an electric coffee pot with no genny...hence the other questions too.

I'm just curious on his total build plans. :)
