Curious as to what is the best? In my opinion, there are only four "True" towing SUV's
8.1 gmc suburban
7.3 excursion
6.0 bullet proofed excursion
v10 Excursion
I bought a 2003 V10 4.30 in 2010. Wanted the 7.3 but could not justify the $25,000 they were getting for one with 150,000 on the odometer. Picked mine up for $10,000 with 78,000 miles on it when gas was just over $4 per gallon.
Would like to hear what you had to give for that 2000 7.3. That looks like a great rig! - LantleyNomad

I had to adjust your list to 3. The 6.0 would be eliminated from my list. I guess I don't believe in bullet proofing...LOL
Oddly enough the photo of the X shown appears to have 6.0 badging - hotpepperkidExplorer

You cannot tell the year by the picture, but you can see a 6.0 emblem in the picture. Something is rotten in Denmark! - colliehaulerExplorer IIIExcursions were the king of SUV'S. I still own two of them a 7.3 and a V-10. Runner up the 8.1 Burb. If GM ever put a Duramax in a heavy duty Burb with decent brakes and a real hitch it would have dethroned the king.
- colliehaulerExplorer IIIWould love to have either the DuraBurb or the 6.7 Excursion conversation but that's a lot of $$$$.
Just curious if anyone has a new 3500 Burb with low tow rating. Intended purpose armored vehicle. - spud1957Explorer

Don't think in 2000, or any year, there were any diesel emblems. I would speculate a previous owner stuck them on.
7.3 emblems have a black background
6.0 emblems have a chrome background.
