Assuming it's well kept, like new garage baby, driven regularly etc, my first reaction is its for sale in CO where weeds legal cause they're high!
But they used diesel market is so far out of wack right now, not even funny and a perfect as new LLY Dmax is only half a step away from the highest regarded pre dpf diesel trucks out there and IMO is almost as good and as refined as any new truck out there.
Late LLY trucks had no big issues I know of. Early ones had a couple things that aren't horrible to remedy.
I personally wouldn't spend that much on that truck but someone may spend close to that. I wouldn't give 30 for it but many would and based on the current market, it will sell for that without much issue.
If $30k ish is the top of your budget and you don't care about warranty or having a truck that is a couple generations behind the current models, then it is not a ripoff at 30.
I get the impression that they don't care if I buy or not. As you say someone will pay what they are asking. First time I've run into I want what I want at a dealer, there's the door, call us when your ready to pay.
And they probably don't, because good low mile diesels are hard enough to find as it is. Now take a darn near holy grail model that is pristine in the middle of the rust belt where half the 05 pickups are now 2 tone rust and paint and I wouldn't expect a dealer to budge either.
I've been searching more than casually to find a replacement for my 07 and the deals are not there. I never buy new vehicles. (Well one in 2001) and if I want to replace my truck in the near future, it will be a new one as those are actually the best value currently when comparing to newer low mile used.

One major issue with 03-05 duramax's were the injectors. There was a recall on them. My dads 04 went through 4 sets in the first 150K, all were covered. The last set they finally fixed the problem with the injector itself and took the truck from 150 to 260K miles when he sold the truck. Its still running around today.
Other than that truck was pretty bullet proof.
O' and that is way to much for an 05'. Sure some one may come up with the cash. But I would not. In my opinion I'd be willing to pay 20-24K. For a low mileage rust free WI truck.

I would be terribly afraid of a truck that old and so few miles on it. When oil isn't sloshing around in it things rust. When it's not run seals harden and become brittle. It includes every component of the truck; tranny, differentials, power steering and brakes, not just the engine.

Found a 2500 HD Duramax with 18500 miles on it. Anything I should worry about with so few miles on it? Must have sat a lot. Their asking $34000.
