2008 GMC Yukon Denali 6.2L maintenance

Not totally off topic. Getting a new TT next month... Coachman Apex 279RLSS, 5400 lbs dry...estimated 6000-6200 lbs. loaded.

Yukon Denali has 63500 miles with about 3000 towing since I got it a 44,000 miles. Tranny, engine and rr end fluids synthetic at 48,000 miles. All 50,000 servicing done at GM dealer service.

Two things....

1. it runs really good, but dealer service said replace plugs at 100,00 miles. Any views on the noticeable benefit in changing before towing the new trailer?

2. In this last cold spell...the air ride compressor would run for 2-3 minutes before it stopped. Anybody have experience with air ride component life? One blog suggested you can expect these to fail at 70,000 or so miles.

I'm going to have it checked out next week, but it's always good to get the experience of others.
  • I don't think you have anything to worry about. I'm using a 1500 Suburban with
a 5.3 liter pulling 7,000lbs. Has a 3.73 axel. Could use more power but I don't have seventy thousand plus tax to buy new. It climbs hills with some effort but working the trany and turning off the air does the trick. My biggest
complaint are expansion joints in the interstates. I get the pogo stick ride
or some call it porposing and that is tough on passengers and the Burban.
Buying a new TT may eliminate that because the axels are further apart front
to back. I wish someone could enlighten us on that. I experience this mostly
in Wisconsin and no other state although many have said its a problem in other
states also. Has no affect on passenger cars. The wife had to have her head
stitched up from constantly ramming the ceiling while we road their pogo stick
interstates. If you ever go to the Dells be prepared for the ride of your life
    before you get there.
