2011 dodge Cummins 6.7 turbo failure
Hey guys,
Just spoke with my mom today, been a crazy week, we are all prepping for The hurricane coming. Anyway her 2011 Dodge had a noise and I checked it out a few months ago when we were all camping together. It would come and go and she said it sounded like a whistle, I first thought that it was a turbo hose since they lost power as well but I found no issues with those. Anyway fast forward till yesterday and the truck had major loss of power and check engine light. She took it to dodge and they told her today that it needs a new turbo at 4g! Wow! That's a lot of cash to shell out. Truck is stock with about 150k and taken care off. Does this sound normal? She won't have anything done till next week since the storm is coming in this weekend. But I wanted to know if you guys had this problem before, and is a turbo for that truck plus installation normal to cost 4g?
Thanks!
