2013 Ram Rear Axle Ratio
I went to the local Ram dealer this morning to check out the 2013 Ram 2500 and 3500 diesels. They had two identical trucks. One was a 2500 and the other was a 3500. I was surprised to find both had 3.23 rear gears. This doesn't seam practical for a tow rig like these two should be. The salesman said they are for maximum fuel economy and with 800 lb ft of torque you won't notice the difference.
Is there anyone out there that has a 2013 Ram diesel with the 3.23 gears? Does it tow decent?
I'm sure the diesel would be a huge improvement over my nine year old gasser but I was thinking 3.55 or 3.73 vs my current 4.10.
Thoughts?
