I have a 2005 Ford F350 hauling a lance 1181. I have had multiple problems with the bed. The last foot or so at the rear was bending down and the areas that supported the front of the bed above the frame were cracked. I added in supports from torklift for the front and fabricated my own supports at the back of the bed with 2 x 2 square tubing and some additional brackets. Since I have done those two things the bed has been great. I think that all new truck beds are not really designed to hold 5000 lbs. It is really just sheetmetal holding the bed off of the frame. At least that is the way that it is on my truck.
