We went to look at the coachman apex 22qbs and 239 rbs today. We saw three of the units the slider seals has come loose and where laying on the ground. One unit had the stairs taken off because they replaced one that broken on a customers unit . One had a the door holder removed . Should I walk away from these. they are are 2014 years models for 15900 and 17900..they are new.

Also on a unrelated note the wood and tin units seemed a bit cooler in the parking lot than the fiberglass units anyone notice this while looking at unit on a lot?

This brand usually has good reviews and happy owners. Agree that the dealer could have been doing some work. Re the steps....more than just a few owners have torn off the steps by leaving them down after a stop somewhere. Believe I would ask the dealer some point blank questions about these issues....if he squirms and tries to come up with a good answer quickly, you might want to continue your search.

As to the slider seal coming loose and laying on the ground. Slide seals have to be taken off, they go all the way around the slide.
Sounds like the dealer was stripping parts. Which would have nothing to do with how the units we built. Striping parts off of new campers is a common practice to get a customer back on the road.

When I find brand new RVs with pieces falling off in the dealer's lot I look for other brands or models. That's just me, other people might feel lucky and still be attracted to features or price.

I also have a 288BHS. I took it back for a few things, like the thread was loose on a cushion, and the AC seemed to vibrate. They fixed every thing I ask, and did it well. They also inspected the slide seal, and replaced it unasked.
Other than that. I've been happy with it. BTW. The AZDEL walls, make the TT much cooler in the summer.

I have a 2013 Coachman Apex 288BHS. I bought it new in August of 2012. I had a leak in the slide the first night I brought it home. It was repaired the next day. The cause of the leak was broken screws attaching the slide to the TT. Just last weekend I replaced the roof vent cover in the bathroom. This was less than $20 and about a half hour of my time.

Other than that it has been trouble free for two years worth of weekend trips.

I have a 2003 coachman. I would not buy anything else but thats me.. Mine is 2003..

I like aluminum sides. I have seen too many bonded sides delaminate and have issues.

If your looking at those models do your self a favore. Get the opposing couch and dinette. You will not regret it.

Mine is a rear bath front queen with opposing couch and dinette..

I recommend you look at this model.

Or this model if you want laminated sides.

Possibly its the dealer you went to is stripping parts for repairs of other trailers...
