Now go to GMC website and do the same on a Denali. Base MSRP = $55K

He thinks the resale values are the same too! Check out Autotrader.com on used trucks of the same year/mileage between an LT and a Denali and the difference is the same at purchase 10k

Drive them both and decide. I have a 2011 Denali 3500 and the ride is great. Tow a 2012 Discover America 345, does excellent job.

Same truck - just more options. If you got the cash and want the bling - get the Denali - it won't ride any better.

In 2011 I order a 2011 3500HD with the options I wanted and not what the dealer wanted to sell on the lot. Ordered in March and delivered in April.

What I did to improve the ride towing and empty (all installed by me and my grandson):

Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 air bags
Bilstein 5100 shocks
OEM steering stabilizer

What I have added:
Bed Rug bed liner, Luverne SS running boards, Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 air bags, Reese Custom Base and Rail Kit, Handy fifth wheel tail gate, rear wheel liners, rear seat storage tray, console storage tray, front lower bumper billet grill, Bushwacker bed rail cap, PML rear diff. cover, Bilstein 5100 shocks, steering stabilizer, Fumoto Oil Drain Valve , Edge Insight CTS.

The Edge Insight CTS helped me with warranty work - it can read Codes stored in the ECM (engine computer).

Also ditching the stock******Goodyear tires and going with a larger all terrain tire at lower unloaded PSI improves the harsh ride a bit.
Of all the HD trucks out there I feel the GM trucks have the best highway ride due to the IFS. No difference in suspension/ride between trim levels as already stated.

I just ordered a 2015 Chevy HD 2500 Duramax LTZ crew cab standard bed. I ordered with the 20" wheels because the Denali I had seen on the GMC lot had 20" and looked sooooo good. The replacement cost is higher for sure. Should be here end of December hopefully.

Generally, the 20s are worse because the sidewall is shorter. You also might want to check replacement costs on 18 vs 20.

Do larger wheels improve the ride or make the ride worse, as in going from 18's to 20's?

GMC is much better looking though....:B
