Built my dream 2015 Lariat 4x4 HD payload Max tow package and the final damage is only 46K :E

Now where did I put that winning lotto ticket??

In other news, Ford is saying the F-150 will have top towing/payload numbers. Not too shocking I suppose.

Thanks Fordlover! I did not realize cool seats were standard on Lariat.

Billy, what cab do you want? Crew cab 3/4 tons come with 6.5 or 8' beds, no shorter than HD F-150 crew cab at 6.5' bed. Extended/double cab 3/4 ton is also available in 6.5' bed which is shorter than the require 8' bed on F-150 Supercab.

I've always thought a regular/long bed was 8' and a short bed was 18" shorter. I don't know what to call a 5.5' bed - maybe a trunk?

Yep, and I thought a truck was a regular cab vehicle with a bed and a bench seat, and maybe an AM radio if you were lucky. Boy how things change. They are even installing Air conditioning and FM radios these days!!:B

Just for fun I took a look. The closest I could get to matching my 2012 truck cost about 10% more. Was not able to get the bucket seats with the HD payload and it does not look like the 3.73 limited slip is used anymore. Gas tank goes from 36 to 33 gallons. From what has been predicted weight will drop 10% so that would go from 6000 curb weight to 5400 curb weight for the crew cab HD. I kinda like the extra ballast myself.

Will be curious to see the payload / towing numbers on these and then what folks think when they get them on the road. Will just wait and see what folks say when they start driving them. I plan on keeping my 2012 a long time.

Pretty amazing phenomenon that we humans possess. The ability to use available space. I had a 6.5 ft step side bed in my F150....when camping it was always full. Moved to an 8 ft bed and an amazing thing happened. The bed filled up when it was time to go camping.

I watch my father in law do the same thing with his dump bed on his F350 cab truck. Amazing.

My bet is that you make due with what you have 5.5 ft, 6.5 ft, or 8 ft...it will get the job done. You will just bring more of the less important things with the bigger bed 🙂

Thanks!

I was hoping for the supercab with 6.5' bed. Don't necessarily need big back seats anymore, but like having options. I figured the supercab would have pretty darned good payload as an HD. The crewcab will likely be about 1000 lbs shy of the RAM 2500 in a similar configuration.

It'd be nice to see some actual payload numbers for some of those "lux" configurations. I don't think a long bed is in my future. I think I'm still leaning toward that RAM 2500 right now.

Can't go wrong with the RAM 2500, great truck from what I've read.

Of course by long bed I mean 6.5 foot. Vs. the 5.5 bed on the crew cabs. the HD doesn't look like it's available with the supercab anymore.

Not the case APT. The 500 lariat includes heated/cooled seats, just no center console option available. Also worth noting the trailer tow mirrors are now a stand alone option, Max tow doesn't seem to include them.

But I do think it's odd they limit lux options on the Max tow/payload packages.

long bed only. If you choose the 5.5 bed, you'll not see the option.

My price was with Xplan, evidently the site now saves it once you log in with it.
