2016 Ram plus AF 1150 plus SuperSprings

So added SuperSprings to my truck this week and a BigWig rear bar. Here is a pic before the weight of the camper is on it.


Here is a pic of it fully loaded up. The SuperSprings are on the harshest ride for the most payload support. Empty it raised the rear of the truck 3 inches or so.


This last pic shows from the rear. The rear is still a couple inches higher than the front. Measuring the wheel well openings and the rear is 42'' high mid tire. The front is 39.5'' high mid tire.


I am installing a 2'' leveling kit to the front next week should get everything nice and level and give the front a little more clearance.

The ultimate goal is to be pretty much level with camper and trailer all hooked up.

I update Memorial Day weekend after the front leveling kit is installed.

FYI - the only mod besides SuperSprings is the upper Stable Loads, which frankly are just not enough for the AF 1150 weight.

    Level isn't necessarily a good thing. Its easier to level camping with blocks for 2 wheels instead of 4. Also, there could be a mileage impact because the angle of the front is different.

    Agreed.

    OP, unless you're strictly after looks, leaving the front stock will allow the suspension to work better, as the control arms are closer to OEM geometry. Adding a leveling kit will also push your stock shocks closer to max length, which means it'll top out more and give a harsher ride, unless you get longer shocks.

    Same for the rear - look into longer shocks if you haven't already, or you'll be operating the OEMs at very close to fully extended all the time.

    Yeah...I would try backing off on the SS before I added leveling kit. Bring the SS down a hole or two.
    Might be just what you need...and it's free ;)

    Update... the truck rides awesome with the SuperSprings and BigWig. Cruised up the Columbia River Gorge in windy conditions and it was like driving an empty pickup. Just set cruise at 67 and go..... And also felt just as comfortable rocketing along at 80 :) Airbags won't be needed at all. :)

    In ten days will have my toy box trailer hooked up along with the camper that will be the ultimate test.

    And yes Les Schwab is adding a 2'' leveling kit to the front tomorrow morning. This will still leave me rear end higher by about 1.5 inches. This has been planned since the day I got the truck home :)

    Then this early winter I can upgrade the tires to something with more traction and maybe a little bigger....then some LED lights and I'll be done.

    It's riding perfect so you are adding a 2" leveling kit. Go figure. ;)

    When the front goes up, the rear goes down. Not exactly a great thing if you are towing since it impacts you ability to deal with elevation/road angle transitions and makes you hit sooner.

    I loved my setup with the lower stable loads, air bags and wireless compressor on my 2014 Ram. Rode great no matter what the load.

    So here is the latest.
    With the SuperSprings on the rear and 2'' leveling kit on the front now. Installed this morning.

    Looks great and will work great too. Now to figure out the tire size I'm jumping too :) LOL.

    Very nice...I'll suggest a 285/70/19.5. I love mine!!!

    Thanks, well I'm not going to buy new rims. At least if I can help it. So just looking at slightly bigger tires.
    I want either the new BFG KO A/T or Goodyear Duratracs from past history.
    Stock tires are 235-80R 17 so about 31.8*9.3 17rims
    Looking at a small change to:
    255/80 17 or 33.3*10 BFG Mud Terrains
    285-75 17 or 33.8*11.25
    285/70 17 or 33*11.25
    The new BFG KO A/T in 34*10.5 17'' really peaks my interest too. Might end up being the best fit as its narrow which will be super important for the rear duals.

    Want slightly bigger while still being able to load the camper. So can't go to wide with the rear duals. Need better off-road traction and snow traction.
