While on the subject of DEF, Ford and GM both ought to add a DEF tank gauge too. It's nice to have a good idea of what you've got in there instead of just waiting for the idiot light to come on, which may not be at the most opportune moment.
Not really a big deal... I change the oil and fill DEF tank. I don't recall how the GM DEF level feedback works, but the Ford system starts warning the driver with 800 miles left. That's more than enough warning to locate some DEF and fill the tank.
