2017 F 350 Trailer Sway Control

I am picking up my new 2017 F-350 SRW, SB, CC, 6.7 tomorrow and was reading some literature and the hitch is a Class V with trailer sway control. I was towing with my 2009 F250, SRW, SB, CC and used an equalizer 1400 4 point sway control/WDH. Towing a 9500 loaded TT.

Will the equalizer and the built in sway control that Ford uses be in conflict with each other? Will I even need sway control? tks

I turn my sway control off most times when towing depending on what toys are loaded. I have found, the factory sway control seems to cause more problems with the Sway Pro hitch I use.

Agreed.... The Sway control is a safety feature and a very good one, but should be relied on as a safety feature.

Yes, the vehicle's sway control is really something you don't want to see normally activated. It's more for emergency situations.

I may have seen mine activated once when we were cut off and swerved hard to avoid an accident.

I have the same hitch and it works well.

The sway control isn't a continuously working device like a hitch provides. Ford's (and others) sway control kicks in after sway has already started to keep the vehicle under control by selectively applying the brakes at individual wheels to reduce speed.
When it kicks in you will definitely feel it but most people will never have such catastrophic sway to activate the system.
A good sway control system is still needed.

I have a 2014 F250 CC, SB and tow a 35ft 8200lb trailer using and equalizer hitch with sway control AND I run with the built in Ford sway control and I do not detect any conflict. Sure tows nice and flat and straight though. Do not feel the 18 wheelers at all.
