You are a professional truck drivers but are asking some questions I would expect a truck driver to be well aware of.

Maybe a little more clarification is needed.

Today's modern 350/3500 duallies handle 35-40 5th wheels just fine. Chris

Not to say that anyone should do this, but "where" you fulltime may make a difference to you. Once you leave certain states the ability to delete some power robbing items does become possible since many states dont require extensive inspections and testing.
Choose wisely where you fulltime domicile your truck.

Prob w/ a med duty truck is that it has limited usage. Whereas a pick-up can be used for many, many more things IMO.

in driving a "big rig" .
it is a bit differnt in knowing to abillitys of smaller trucks.
yes i have intrests in what i would like to have.
afforadabilty is another thing
snog is another. i live in ca so heavy on smog controls. will be moving to sd but not for some years.
but i drive them not work on them.
and looking for real input from those that are doing it. not just a sales page.
and why buy more than needed.
but the fl60 has a longer frame to add in things. ( storage, motorbike, etc) as oposed to a pu truck.
not known if a pu diesel motor can accept a true jake brake. but i find them very good for going down a grade.

just starting my searching so as the great number nine said input, need input.

as to a rv i am thinking maybe a keystone alpine. socalled curb weight of 13.000
add in another 3K for my needs.
more weight? deffently not less
so would be pulling a good 14,000 pound trailer.
sure can do "other" rv, if i put storage on the frame of a better truck.

Yes, and they cost $70+K while a used non Sport Class FL 60-70 with a Commins 8.3 engine is $20K or less with lots of miles left in it.

If that is the case, why mess with an over priced MDT, go find a good 500,000 Volvo class 8 at half the cost and be done with it.
