3500 Insurance

Actually , only a small % of ins premium is related to vehicle value or type, trim level, gvw, etc.
Most of the premium is due to geographical location, age, status, driving record, credit score, policy inclusions and limits.

So true. Moved from Volusia County across the St. John's River to Seminole County which is part of Orlando Metro area. That less than 20 mile move South increased the premium on our truck by about 50 bucks per policy period. Most of the increase was on liability and uninsured motorist coverage.

Curious, how could you find the answer? To many variables. Generally a one ton will cost more but one insurance company may be cheaper than another.

While class of vehicle does matter. Cost of vehicle and type/amount of use is a bigger factor. In the end it's all about exposure.
A loaded F-150 and a loaded F-350 used for the same purpose will cost about the same. However commercial use vs. non commercial or daily use vs. occasional use will generate a bigger difference. Driving record/experience is also a huge factor.

Not discussing brands or year models, just average insurance rates.

Just went from a 2017 2500 to a 2018 3500. Insurance through USAA - increased 62.00 over 6 months.
