I'm not familiar with Fontaine.
I tend to think Curt makes the hitch and RAM re-brands them. Regardless, mine operates quietly, hitching is easy, and install/removal is a snap. I love the OEM 5th wheel mounts leaving the bed completely clear. Also, I really like the idea the hitch sets directly on the frame mounted stantions and all weight load is directly on the frame. I know other hitches do the same thing, but this system is really pretty slick.
To make hitch install/removal easy I mounted a chain hoist in the ceiling of my garage. I back the truck in lift up the hitch, then put it on a small furniture dolly to store it.

- ramgunnerExplorerHere is a list of all of them that we know of for the 5th wheel/gooseneck prep group.

Happy with my Curt Q20.
Same here. I like the B&W but needed to save $$ and went with Curt. No regrets at all, it's been a great hitch.
In fact, it's the identical hitch you can buy from MOPAR. No difference other than the sticker says RAM on it instead of Curt.
KJ - dodge_guyExplorer IIWell 30 seconds of clicking on his sig shows its a 17 ram 3500.
either way I think they are all universal rail mounts. - hone_eagleExplorerIf you apply the trailer brakes and then gently 'lean' the truck against the pin (gently pull) nobody will be able to pull the handle.
Had a trucker show me that at a truck stop once. - Cummins12V98Explorer III

Cummins12V98, i count three padlocks on your hitch. Can you explain that? Are they necessary? What are they protecting etc. Serious question. Thanks.
That pic is missing the two holding the head on. I have 5 total. I lock both sides of the hitch head, opposing sides of the base and one to lock the handle.
I don't want to later say gee I wish I had locked my hitch when someone steals the head or the entire hitch at $1,200 or some AZZHAT decides it would be funny to pull my locking handle. Yes I like LOCKS! - nohurryExplorerCummins12V98, i count three padlocks on your hitch. Can you explain that? Are they necessary? What are they protecting etc. Serious question. Thanks.
