6 door truck

In a nearby town there is an older Ford (late '90's) that is a 4door crew cab with an extended cab behind the back doors.
Always do a double take when I drive past it.

Had a Dodge one in our park over the weekend.

I thought they just took a long bed crew cab, lengthened the cab portion, and transplanted a short bed on it.

At least, that was my understanding (but I could be wrong).

As for Excursions, they can make an EX out of a shortbed crew cab by grafting the rear part of the EX on it.

Well, up to 2016 anyway, they are steel. Dunno what they can do for the 2017 aluminum crowd.

probably will lose the new truck warranty.

My 4 door long bed "beams" enough without adding 3 or 4 feet in length.
If you saw how most extend the frames you wouldn't tow anything with that truck.

Even my truck takes half a football field to turn around. I would hate to drive this truck.

If GM would put the Duramax diesel in the Suburban/YukonXL, they would sell a gaggle of them I'm sure.

Ford has their head up their arse. They think the F150 takes the place of the Ranger, and the Expedition EL takes the place of the Excursion, and the Euro Transit van takes the place of the Econoline vans. That's a big H3LL NO!

Businesses aren't buying the Transit much. They're still buying the Econoline, while it's still available. Once the Econoline is gone, they'll be buying Chevy/GMC vans.

Businesses and private folks who want a small truck aren't buying the F150, they're buying the Tacoma. Ford gave away all those Ranger sales to Toyota. How lucky for Toyota.

And those who want a 3/4-ton large SUV with a big engine, well, you're SOL if you don't find a good used one.

If properly converted, I don't see it affecting the towing capacity any more than the additional weight adds. Actually will be more stable with the super long wheelbase.
But as said above, will take a football field to make a u turn.
Sucks there's no options for heavy towing and more than 5-6 passengers. RIP, Excursion.....

Looks like the cab to axle length (using the back of a regular 2 door cab as the measuring point) is probably somewhere between 8 and 9 feet. If it was a commercial flatbed truck, that would equate to a truck with about a 14 foot flatbed and a regular 2 door cab. With a 4wd front axle, that would take awhile to turn for sure.
