A/C& Heat question

One of the first upgrades I made to my 1987 class C was a heat strip. I loved it.

How in the world do you and Golden HVAC ever stand the noise when the AC is on and both the compressor and fan are running?:@

Fact is, I think the noise is the same with the A/C or Heater. For me, I think the difference is I feel the cool air from the TC, but not warm air the heater. My guess is that mentally, I feel the value A/C but not of the Heater.

Some of the penguins have the thermostat on the unit itself and it does control the heating and cooling.

I find that when plugged into shore power, they're great. Where/what temps you camp at, and the insulation on your camper has a lot to do with how well they work.
Mine put out out so much heat, I went to Home Repot and added a Cadet Heater Thermostat to it. Most of these when installed into a roof air are either on or off, the AC TStat doesn't regulate the temp.

The Dometic universal heat strip kit is $49.95 at PPL. It is 5600 BTU.
Its a plug and play kit, two mounting screws and an electrical plug in. Takes all of 30 minutes to install.

Our Penguine had a 2 speed fan and we had the best results running it on low. Less noise and heated better.

The electric heater kit might cost around $100 and if you can not install it yourself, then another $100 to install. I can take along a lot more quiet electric heaters, and run them where I need the heat at about 1/4 the noise, for about 1/10 the price!

I would never want a electric heater powered by my noisy A/C fan.
