Add a heat strip to Dometic Brisk air

in our 33 ft TT we thought about adding a heat strip but instead bought a lasko ceramic electric oscillating tower heater. its about 24 inch tall we don't boondock so power is no issue. setup in living room it keeps our camper very comfortable down to about 32 degree. we have camped in upper 20's with the heater and furnace propane and it works great helping to use less propane. when not in use simply unplug and from 110 outlet and store it somewhere

I find my heat strip performs well--but you do have to have no expectations that 5000 BTU's will heat up a huge RV fast.

I did the eheat strip. Not worth it.to much air flow, not enough heat.

Yep...

Except the "furnace" is not what's circulating the air from a heat strip in the A/C... it's the A/C blower. .

yep, thanks for the correction. another issue if you are in a campground that charges extra for electric heat, it is sort of obvious with that AC blower humming along. :)

I use a small space heater in all of the RV's I've owned. I've even done this boondoocked, and left my EU2000i locked to a tree running all night with the heater going. I sleep far better that way than continually waking up from the noise of the propane furnace cycling all night (and killing my batteries)

I've always shopped around and found one with three wattage settings - 600, 900 and 1500. When I run it all night on generator power, I put it on the 600 watt setting.

I researched this a while back. Not only do you need a new wall stat, you will also need another wire run to it.

If a new thermostat is required, I would NOT install the a strip.

I would acquire a small cube heater and replace the outlet that I intended to use it with in the RV.
