Air Conditioning Maintenance

I am going to be doing some AC (I believe it is a DuoTherm) maintance to my TT this weekend never been done since I owned it but my question from doing a search on the internet it looks like I spray the AC Foam cleaner on the condenser and evaportor fins and then rinse with water is that correct. Also anybody that has done this themselves have any tips.

Thanks
  • This Blog post should be of help.

On our RV I can gain access to the evaporator coil by removing the return air grill and the sponge filter. I use a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment to remove the dust that gets by the sponge filter. I have never found the condenser coil on the roof to be dirty or blocked.
  • Be careful of the spray foam cleaner around your rubber roof. I believe it is a strong alkali that may attack your rubber / seals.

I've only ever used water (hose) and a light brush. The coil cleans up fairly well. If you have to use the cleaner, lay a tarp or something down to direct the runoff so it doesn't contact your roof.
