My neighbor has a 2500….when properly loaded, the back sits low, all his weights are within specs and he still has room to pull more weight if he wanted to go heavier. I helped him put on the AirLift kit (I believe) with two different schrader valves, and the ride is much nicer on rough roads. For him, adding the bags gave more room for suspension travel.
To say get a bigger truck without knowing what the full story is, really is no help. In my 2500, once I am all set up, my rear travel is greatly reduced. I will be adding bags myself in the future to keep things from banging around.
