Nice pix and captions. SE AK is a tough nut to crack if you are in a TC.
It's not so hard to crack, as it is expensive. A trip to Prince of Wales and back via the ferry, for a family of three and a 20' rig is $490 round trip. A trip to Metlakatla is $200. There's stuff to do here in a TC, just not much of a road system outside of POW island and you really need four days minimum to go beyond POW. To get to Petersburg or Wrangell, five days is minimum, then you are coming back on the red eye ferry trip.
The other "hard part" is the weather. SE AK gets up to 14 feet of rain per year, so inclement weather has to be expected. We have all the right gear, but still, it's harder when it's perpetually raining compared to the lower 48.
We are here through November, then might be going somewhere with even less roads, out in the middle of nowhere...........
