Aliner - where to keep clothes?

We had a hardside Jayco. After setting up we took our clothes out of the duffle bags and stored them on metal shelving that we put on top of the micro cabinet.

Thanks everyone! Lots of creativity here. I'll post some photos of my countertop set up.

On the countertop over the fridge I keep a small folding aluminum chair that I use as a shelf. Put an electric fan on top, and fruit and veggies underneath. I also put a power strip up there to charge my devices. I don't use my water system, so in the sink I keep miscellaneous cooking tools, and use it as a temporary storage for trash and recyclables.

In the morning, I use that counter space for my coffee grinder, electric kettle, thermos and Melitta drip cone. Sometimes I'll go outside and boil my water on the camp stove, but it takes 3 times as long. During the day I store those things in the cupboard next to the fridge.

On the other side, the countertop over the microwave holds another fan, and a basket where I keep keys, small flashlight, dog supplies, and other misc.

So my countertop space is already occupied.

If the weather is really nice, no bugs, I can sit outside and don't plan to have guests, I can leave the bed folded down and keep clothes under or on top of it. I do keep a gym bag with biking clothes and running clothes in the truck.

I think you have to be a little OCD to camp in an Aliner! But I sure do love how easy it is to use.

Look behind the storage drawers and you can see the plastic shoe containers at the foot of the bed. You can also see that we've hung holders for micro fiber wash cloths (we use to dry hands and dishes), as well as a hanging paper towel holder. There's also some room above the drawers to store other small items.

I have an Aliner Ranger 15 with potty (same size/counter space as the Expedition). We keep our hanging clothes on a clothes hanging rod in our SUV and get out what we need the night before, hanging them from one of the inside latches. We keep folding clothes and dry goods in slide out Sterlite bins that we stack on the counter next to the potty (we have a split counter so we can access the potty without lifting the whole counter). They store nicely under the dinette table during transit. We keep socks and underwear, plus a container of toiletries in plastic shoe boxes at the foot of the bed. Four of them fit between the end of the mattress and the camper wall on their sides.

Some people hang an extendable painter's pole at the peak of the triangles when setting up to hang things from (hang up clothes, towels, hooks, etc.).

I recently moved from the Scout to the Expedition and, surprisingly, while the Expedition is 3' longer than the Scout, there is less storage. Of course, the Expedition has more in the way of appliances/systems to house.

I decided to go with this:



Generally, I don't camp for more than 4 days so I can accommodate my clothing (shorts, t-shirts) in the cabinet next to the toilet and then utilize the storage shelving you see in the pic for other things such as coffee related items, and towels on top. Hope this helps.

I have an Aliner Scout so I don't know how much would translate but I keep 10 days worth of clothes (for both hot and cold weather). I keep the clothing for the off temp weather in a medium sized duffle bag in one of the storage areas under the dinette seats. I keep a small duffle bag for underwear, socks, etc. in the storage area next to the AC. I keep another medium sized duffle bag with the current temp clothes under the couch. The last two duffle bags are easy to get at. I took a 42 day trip last year and that worked well for me. After a week, I wash clothes. Having 10 days of clothes allows me to last longer if I am not near a place where I can do laundry. I don't hang up clothes - just towels to let them dry.

Try keeping most of your clothes in the truck and getting a couple of days at at time at most out, and bringing them in the trailer. Packing cubes are a great way to keep clothes organized in a larger tub, too.

You can buy some pretty nice cargo boxes that can be hitched to the back of your Aliner. If you don't have a hitch there, it's easy to get one. As long as you don't overload it, it won't affect your trailer at all. Some of them have TONS of storage capacity and would be perfect for clothes - easy to access and can be locked.

Try packing cubes for clothing. You can fit a lot in them and they keep things neat and confined. It makes it easy to be able to move a packet of clothes around. Get two medium/large cubes, fill with your clothes, then set on either end of the couch to use as pillows during the day. At night when you make your bed, toss them on the dinette.

Hanging clothes is a challenge for sure... Our OFF-ROAD POPUP has the two beds so the second bed area becomes our daily catch all place... There is only two of us...



We also have one spot for a clothes hanger and found one of these multi-layer hanger tree...


I see from one of these ALINER inside photos you can hang a shelf over one corner which looks pretty neat and maybe you can hang a hanger tree from that...



Do a search on google - found aot of inside camping photos...
I used 'Camping inside RV Aliner' and when it loads up select 'IMAGES'... Might get some ideas from that...
