I have Maxxis on my tandem axle TT and love them. Others swear by Endurance, I had issues with Marathons on my old TT. To each his own.
Yes, the Maxxis is another good ST tire and it was a 50/50 toss up for me, I flipped a coin to decide.
๐ I was tossed between the Maxx and the new Endurance Before I made my decision , I checked the boat and horse forums. The Marathons had issues on boat and horse trailers and many of those owners switched to the new Endurance tire with good results so far.
Many stated the endurance has a stiff sidewall where flexing is reduced to the point that they can see it in the side view mirrors as they roll down the road. Owners say they ride smooth and some have said fuel mileage increased 1 mpg. They also have an 87 mph speed rating and are built to distribute heat.
this is from the GY site:
" Available in Load Ranges D and E to accommodate larger trailer load capacities, the entire Endurance trailer line carries the N speed rating allowing consumers to travel at highway speeds. The Endurance also contains a wide range of features, including:
โขAn optimized tread depth and decoupling groove, which help it remain cool while towing heavy loads;
โขRugged fabric-steel construction, which offers improved durability and carrying capacity while remaining compatible with tire pressure monitoring systems and typical tire inflation stations;
โขA specialized inner liner, which minimizes air loss in trailer applications; and
โขA scuff guard, which helps protect sidewalls.
In addition to introducing the new Endurance, Goodyear has unveiled a brand new, special trailer size: ST 255/85R16. The Endurance is the only tire on the market available in that size".
I think both are good choices but only time will tell on the new Endurance...so far, so good.
