Yup, and until you drive an 8 or 10 speed equipped vehicle, unless you really understand vehicles, I can imagine it is hard to realize what the difference is.
That said, 10th gear is all but useless in my Silverado. It's only 150 rpms lower than 9th gear, and 9th is still under 2500 rpms hooked to a LS motor at 90mph.
