Any of you have a 2018 F350 Dually with FX4 pkg?

Hi All, I’m new to the site and would appreciate your help figuring out what size mud flaps I should get for my “on order” truck. I have 23 1/2” from the bottom of the rear fender wells to the ground. I have 2 choices... ones that hang down 13” from the fender well or 17 1/2”.

The 17 1/2” ones would give 7” clearance from the ground which is great. But when we load a heavy truck camper (3,000lbs+) and hitch our boat (about 200lb tongue weight) I’m worried the flaps will be dragging when we hit bumps etc. If the TC & boat sink the F350 4” that only leaves 2” clearance from the road.

Based on a 4” sink on the F350 the 13” ones are great for the loaded truck giving a 7” clearance but might not protect the truck when it’s empty with 9” clearance.

It really depends on how much the camper & boat sink the truck and I’m going to have to guess.

Any of you have a 2018 F350 dually with FX4 pkg? If so, do you know how many inches your truck camper sinks your truck?

Much appreciated!
  • If they're hard mud flaps like Dura Flaps I'd make sure they dont ever drag. Rubber flaps, no big deal.
The short ones should protect the truck fine. Longer will keep more rocks off the trailer.
  • This is my 2017 350 with FX4 package. The camper is on and I measure 19 3/4" from the ground to the dually fender behind the flap with my ~3500 lb camper loaded. My flaps are just the cheap weathertech plastic ones, they hang down about 10 1/2".

Unfortunately I haven't measured it empty.

  • On our 2006 F350 drw 4X4 the rear bumper dropped 4" with our 4k lb camper in the bed. That was with the stock suspension.
  • I have that exact truck, but we haven't had our camper in the truck yet.
