Any other jayfeather LGT owners

We have a 2006 jayfeather that we bought a few yrs ago and love it except for one thing. The design of the black tank seems to baffle me. There seems to be about an inch or two between the bottom of the tank and the top of the tank where the toilet drops into it. Thus causing a spot for paper and other stuff to pile up if not enough water is used when flushing. Anybody else dislike this design? I know, use more water but still... similar experiences or solutions?
