Any suggestions on new travel trailer

Looking to buy a new travel trailer with slide, Right now I have A 2003 Dutchmen Sport Lite no slide 26B Aluminum exterior with wood framing. Looking at a 2016 Sprinter campfire by Keystone 27RL with fiberglass exterior with wood and aluminum framing. We also look at a 2015 Heritage Glen (Forest River)282RK with laminated vacuum bonded aluminum sidewalls, all aluminum framing. I'm hearing good and bad things about the fiberglass sidewalls. Towing vehicle F150 5.0 v8. Any recommendations will be appreciated. Thanks
  • I just got a Sprinter Campfire 27RL.

I really like the layout and it has a lot of standard features.
  • I recently downgraded from a Class C to a travel trailer. I wanted a Lance, but because I could not get the price to a point I wanted it, ended up with a Keystone. I got the Passport Elite 23RB and I absolutely love it. 25 feet with one slide. 4700 lbs empty. I pull it with an F150 V8 as well. No issues. Layout isn't for everyone, especially if you have kids/grandkids. But if for one person or a couple, the layout is awesome. Huge kitchen, plenty of storage.
  • I'm looking for my first trailer, just passing on what I found to be a very interesting design. The Evergreen Element, the big front curved window really caught my eye. Reminiscent in ways of the recently discontinued Aviator, which was so nice they couldn't sell them from what I can see. Very low numbers of units sold, and they gave up on it in 2013 if the internet ramblings I found were accurate. Only reason I mention, I saw a few on RV Trader recently. Very unique!!

  • We just bought a 2015 Creekside by Outdoors RV Mfg. They are 2" aluminum framing. They have a lot of features that a dry camper would like. Big water tank, Solar Ready, High chassis for heading down the dirt roads. I think they are built really well for the cost. They have another brand that is a Blackrock, basically the same trailer with less features. Kind of like the difference between a Mercury and a Ford....for those of you who what that means.
  • I went camping this past weekend and there was a Jayco park next to us, nice looking rig I will have to take a look at there floor plans. Thanks for the info.
  • I just purchased the 2015 Jayco Jay Feather X254. The RV is the best floor plan I could find for what I was looking for. The Length is 27 feet long, but has a back 5 foot electric slide which holds a king size bed. When the bed is retracted the towing length is 22 feet long. There are bunk beds in the front that can fold up and provide a great big storage area. It has plenty of bathroom, kitchen and clothes storage areas. I researched this camper and could find no other one that could match it. I am sold on Jayco products. I am strayed to other brands in the past, but never will again. Jayco has the best quality and best built RV available. I am so looking forward to our first camping trip!!
I hope this helps in your decision.
  • Check out Alumilite....VRV...lightweight and nicely built...
