anybody towing 3/4 burb 6.0L towing 9K+ LBS

If you are sure you have a 410 axle then the 6.0 and 410 is a pretty stout set up. Just keep it in 3rd with tow haul on and don't use cruise unless flat land.

I am towing a outback 312bh which is listed by the manufacturer 7600# dry weight. We do not pack lightly, 3 kids and all of their clothes,toys, bikes, etc. Plus we usually travel with the fresh water tank full or at least partial. And the fridge and cupboards full of food. The truck (2003 Yukon Xl with 6.0l and 4.10 gears) does pretty good. I have a bully dog gt gauge/tuner and a k&n cone air filter, and I added an aux. Transmission cooler in addition to the OEM one to protect the trans.

Yes I have a 4.10.

I am not sure of the tongue weight on these, but the Jayco 32BHDS was 1400 lbs after sticking all my stuff in the front compartment when new. (I have removed most of the stuff now, but not verified new weight.)

Have you replaced the stock hitch? If not, and you keep your vehicle, I would strongly recommend that you replace.

So how does your 6.0 tow your 32BHDS vs. your old 8.1 I see from your sig. you have had both

I would not be satisfied with performance from the 4-spd. But the rest of the truck should do well.

My 6.0 with 6sp tows my 32BHDS as good or better than the 8.1. I initially did it with the benefit of being able to use a new 2500HD with the 6.0 and 3.73; and without the benefit of calculating out the ratio's. If you look at the tables that APT has done, you will see why it works better.

Additionally, the new truck gets 14 mpg versus 11 mpg from the old (monthly average of mixed use).

I was hoping to get a new 1500 2014 Silverado with the 5.3 and 3.42 that is rated at 9700lb to test towing the trailer. However, I have only found them with the 3.08 or with the 4.3.

Had a 2002 2500HD CCSB 4x4 and towed 8Klb toyhauler with it and can't say it was the most enjoyable of experiences. Towing on flat ground was fine unless you hit a stong headwind however towing through the mountains was a chore. THe 6.0 does not do well with the 4 speed (even with 4:10's)I had in that truck and spent a lot of time in 2nd gear screaming up mountain passes. Yes it would get the job done and the truck handled the load well but the lack of any real low end torque coming form the 6.0 mated to the 4-speed would not be my first choice for a tow vehicle. Mileage was 8MPG at best... Sold the truck last year and picked up a 2012 Duramax and haven't looked back.

There were a number of reports of the OEM receiver failing well under the OEM ratings when those trucks were new. I researched and wanted essentially Dadoffourgirls' prior Suburban and had budgeted an extra $200 for a replacement receiver.

Here is a gear/torque multiplciation comparison netween the 8.1L/4.10/4-spd and 6.0L/3.73/6-spd. While the peak torque is quite a bit higher with the 6.0L, the much deeper first gear and shorter gear spacing really mates well and provides a significantly improved driving experience over the prior 4-spd. Maybe not as great as the 8.1L at the 6.0L requires some extra downshifts, but it pulls pretty hard over 3500rpm.
