- SidecarFlipExplorer IIII would have gotten a license plate mount cam but 'Santa' brought me the Furrion. You never go against Santa.....
- run100ExplorerI agree. I've been using a license plate camera for 4 years now and the view is fine and the price is much more reasonable than other models.
- billyray50ExplorerNormally i agree but this camera has panoramic view. So much that I had to angle it down to the road quite a bit. Exact view of my stock tailgate camera. Thats all I need to back up truck/TC combo.
- SidecarFlipExplorer IIIPersonally, I see no advantage of mounting a cam low but lots of advantages in mounting it hih (which is why I asked for a wireless unit for Christmas. The higher it is, the more panoramic view you have and the farther rearward you can see.
- billyray50ExplorerThanks. Plug and play. Easy install. Here is a closer shot of install.
- jimh406Explorer IIINice job mounting billyray50!

My wife bought me a Furrion wireless observation cam for Christmas (Walmart) and I mounted it up high on the back of the camper. Comes with a LCD screen that goes on the dash (or on the windshield with a suction cup mount. Works well and has the infra red night vison as well. It;s switchable between observation and backup (with the grid).
Really helps me to see who is tailgating me...
Big plus is it's wireless, so no cables.
That is real nice camera too. After almost 7 years of Hauling TC without a back up camera this will do. Not sure I want to see who is tailgating. Concerned about getting distracted checking observation view. Maybe later.
As a rule, I glance at it when changing lanes or driving in traffic to see who might be passing or starting to pass me. Coupled with the mirrors it makes for a much safer trip. I agree that the less distractions the better. - billyray50Explorer

Could not mount it on license plate bracket on camper due to obstructed view from TC ladder. Drilled to small holes under custom bumper and mounted camera using license plate bracket that came with camera kit with a couple of small 'L' brackets and bolts, washers, and nuts which I had already. Location does not interfere with climbing TC steps.
