Arizona Swimming Holes-short report

My wife's family came down from Utah for a short trip in their travel trailers, so we did the campground program and visited the local creeks, caves, and lakes.

Tonto Natural Bridge is always a good spot to bring family.

This dripping spring oozes over the top of the travertine bridge.

View of the dripping spring in contrast to the otherwise arid climate.

Three generations of campers. My wife's parents raised her in multiple truck campers and RV's, and if it wasn't for her, we'd still be sleeping in tents.

I won a week long trip to the Super Bowl in 96', took advantage of it to go to the G. C. , Natural Bridge, some Rainbow Trout fishing in the Salt. Got down to Tombstone and Saguaro Nat. Park also. But I'd have to say the highlight of the trip had to be when we kind of got lost and ended up taking Schnebly. Hill Rd. Down to Sedona at dusk on the way back from the G. C. The car we got with the tripI I'd say was the equilavent of a Yugo. Talk about s....ing in your pants, when we got to the bottom of Schnebly, here's this Big sign that says 4 wheel drive vehicle's only. I want to know why there wasn't one on the top of the hill. That hill took five years off our lives, lol. I'll never regret the two saw bucks I spent on that raffle. Thank's for your T. R.

Thanks, we'll be living on an island with only 30 miles of roads, but we plan to take the ferry to Prince of Wales Island for trips over there from time to time.

Going to really miss Arizona, and hope to be back for another winter in the future. So much left to explore that we have not done yet.

Arizona is my 2nd favorite state, by a small margin, to Utah.

Thanks for the reminder of the warm desert country as I am boondocking up in the reversed of desert country and snow here in the Grand Staircase. Beautiful country and how wonderful to have multiple generations present to score some time together before your locale changes. Thanks afgain for taking the time to put this trip report together!

Safe Travels, always, for your northbound trip.

Blooming cholla.

Pics later from riding the Vineyard trail high above this part of the Salt River.

Browns Peak from camp.

Campground raven.

Bad iPhone pic of a pack of four javelina that wandered through our camp.

iPhone pics from morning ride up near Browns Peak and then down via the Vineyard Trail. Great 16 mile loop with unreal views. Too bad I was too lazy to haul the DSLR.

Roosevelt dam.

Last truck camper trip in AZ. Leaving for AK in two weeks and have a month to get there. Looking forward to that trip.

Next day we went to Christopher Creek, a popular summer swimming hole just below the Mogollon Rim.

Cold, but crystal clear swimming pools.

East Verde River

Swam up this channel in next pic. Amazing clear water, just very cold.
