back up camera

I was thinking about getting a wireless backup camera for my Ram pickup. Anyone have one that works well?
  • I bought a 99 dollar from Advance Auto Parts and mounted it on the back of a 31 foot camper. Ran power off the taillight. It didn't work at that distance. I called the company that made it and they sent me a 25 foot extension cable and I mounted the transmitter on the front of the camper. It can now send the signal through the trucks rear window to the receiver mounted on the dash. It works ok but if the sun is setting behind you the screen is un-viewable. For 99 bucks I'm "ok" with it.
  • I commented to my wife that it would be nice to have a camera on the back of our trailer. I could use it while backing up into a site or just to see behind the trailer while driving. She remembered that I already have a GoPro camera that can be displayed on my iPhone or iPad through blue tooth. I just need to attach one of the GoPro mounts to the back of the trailer and I would be good to go. I didn't even think about that option. Great idea and I already have everything I need. The camera can easily be put on or taken off the mounts.
  • Is The I-ball camera just for hooking up to tow ball ,or would you see a large area behind you when on highway ,on coming traffic?
  • I have the I Ball and love it. I use it to back the TT into tight spots or out of them.I laminated a piece of steel to the TT below the rear window, the camera has a strong magnet. For TT hookups it sticks to my tailgate
  • Just bought mine on e-bay for $ 93.00 from China including shipping. System works great . It takes aprox. 3 weeks for delivery but for the price it's worth the wait. Make sure you buy the one that has the solid Antenna mounted on the Camera and Monitor. Do not buy the ones that have the Antennas attached to wires.

My Swift Hitch works good for setting up a sat dish.

    That's a good idea!
