Bargman Tail Lights

Hello -

I am in need of advice. I have a new set of Bargman tail lights for my Roo 21SS.

I am trying to determine if any kind of sealant is needed or recommended between the wedge base and the taillight assembly. The old one does not appear to have anything, and I am wondering if this is by design, or someone just forgot.

I guess I figure it doesn't make sense to have this gap there, unless it is to allow water to escape.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Not sure what you meant by "wedge base" and "tail light assembly". The whole thing is a tail light assembly, as I see it. There is the white base that has the holder for the bulb, and there is the red lens that snaps on to the base.

Assuming that you mean a gap at the bottom of the lens when attached to the base - yes it is there by design for drainage and should not be sealed up.

I changed both factory rear tail light assemblies on my RV to Bargman assemblies because simply put they are better constructed and also they would (and have) let no water into the lens while driving through rain. With the old assemblies, I was always having to pop off the lens and apply silicone bulb grease to the base of the wedge bulb just to get the dumb things to work. And in one rainstorm so much water got into the lens that it caused the bulb to blow and so I drove without knowing I had no rear lights for 7 hours! - big safety issue. The Bargman also have bayonet automotive bulbs instead of wedge junk.
